Mirrorshades was the first anthology of cyberpunk authors. It is edited by Bruce Sterling and was published in 1986.
The writers in this collection can be considered the first wave of cyberpunk science fiction. Since those halcyon days, many more authors have tripped the silicon floorboards. Like jazz or reggae, cyberpunk has grown beyond itself yet contains its root brainstem.
